Bio

Melissa Coleman is a new media artist, lecturer, blogger and curator of the Dutch exhibition Pretty Smart Textiles. Melissa’s works are critical explorations of the body in relation to technology. Coleman writes for Fashioning Technology and teaches at art and design schools in The Hague, Rotterdam and Tilburg and at the Technical University of Eindhoven.
Together with Piem Wirtz from V2_ she founded the E-Textile Workspace, a monthly expert meeting for artists and designers working with textiles and electronics. The travelling exhibition Pretty Smart Textiles has been on show in The Hague, The Netherlands in 2010, in Herning, Denmark in 2011 and was part of the exhibition TechnoSensual in Vienna in 2012.
